HW #1 Setting up your Gmail Account
Set up a google docs account and learn how to share your documents. You will use your google documents account to write documents, spreadsheets, power point presentations and PDF’s. Due to the number of computer viruses, etc. this is the best way to get your documents to me. Documents that are submitted via Blackboard that do not open will receive a grade of zero or F.
Submit the assignment on or before the deadline in your course calendar.
Instructions
1. Create a Gmail account with a photo (THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT)
2. Send me an mail me at sowk300@gmail.com
3. In the body of your email include your name, course section, major AND answer the following questions.
Introduce yourself to the entire class. You should include what you are most excited about as you start this college year, where you are from, and describe how you plan to stay on track for this course. Please keep this introduction short, 1 to 2 paragraphs in length.
Please note! One of the most difficult skills for this course is managing your time.

ReplyDeleteWe were required to write how we planned on staying on track for this course- THIS REALLY HELPED ME! It helped me gather my (preliminary) thoughts and make them more complete.
ReplyDeleteI had fun doing this assignment, because I needed to set up an email other then the one the school provides. I learn alot from the assignment such as mailing emails, how to post pictures, and how to network through Gmail. The technology was somewhat easy to use, but the direction given on Blackboard made it clear.I do think this is needed for other students, because it is a great mans of communication. I like most was being able to mail out things to people. I didnt like the set up of the webpage. But overall i like this assignment.

ReplyDeleteBecause i already had a gamil account, I didnt learn nothing new while doing this assignment, but when i did create my google account i learned that there was a safe way to send and recieve emails from family and friends without the scare of spam and viruses usually associated with other email accounts. i also learned that there are some perks that comes with signing up for a gmail account such as google docs which is a safe and easy was to share your documents with others.
ReplyDeleteWell... I thought I would try to be the first to be on top of homework #1, However, I failed to make my photo visible for everyone. I'm doing it over because of a simple mistake. I did, however, learn that I need to slow down and make sure everything is correct. :-)

ReplyDeleteI found this assignment to be very helpful for setting goals for the semester and learning more about gmail and google documents. I enjoyed this assignment because I was able to farmilarize myself witht the technology that will be involved in the class ahead of time.

ReplyDeleteThe first assignment was very simple. I already have to use gmail for my political science class, so I already have one established. Gmail is a very good email account to have. Its mroe reliable so I'm happy that we are using it.

ReplyDeleteI did not learn that much from this assignment becaue I have used this particular thing before just for another class. One thing that it did for me was realized that this is the beginning, and I need to stay on top of things in this class!!!
